Rent a Room at Nahant Marsh Education Center


Make your next event unique and memorable by hosting it at the Nahant Marsh Education Center! Our versatile rental space is perfect for family gatherings, corporate or club meetings, and birthday parties. With its natural surroundings and modern amenities, the facility offers a blend of convenience and charm to make your event special.


Room Features and Amenities

  • Capacity: The room accommodates up to 36 people with tables and chairs set up. The arrangement can be customized to suit your needs.
  • Technology: Equipped with two TV monitors and an AV system, perfect for presentations and slideshows.
  • Accessibility: Two accessible restrooms are available.
  • Refrigeration: Refrigeration is available upon request.
  • Decorations: You may arrive up to 1 hour before your rental time to decorate. Tabletop decorations are allowed; however, nothing can be attached to the walls.

Scheduling and Policies

  • Advance Booking: Schedule your event at least one month in advance. We recommend booking two months in advance for your preferred date.
  • Deposit and Contract: A signed contract and 50% deposit are required one month before the event.
  • Cancellations: Notify us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid forfeiting your deposit.
  • Cleanup: Please leave the space in the same condition you found it. 

  • Room Rental

    • Rate: $40 per hour during operating hours. Additional fees apply for non-operational hours.
    • Package: Includes access to tables, chairs, AV equipment, and restrooms. Guests may bring their own food, drinks, and decorations.
    • Recommendations: Bring coolers to keep beverages and snacks cold.

  • Birthday Party

    Celebrate your child’s special day with a nature-themed party!


    • Rate: $120 for two hours.
    • Details: Designed for up to 15 children (ages 3+). Parties are typically scheduled on Saturdays from 10:00 am - 12:00 p.m. or 12:00-2:00 p.m. All birthday parties include a Naturalist-led program.
    • Bring Your Own: Food, cake, presents, and games.

  • FAQs

    • Can we exceed 15 children for a birthday party? Due to staffing, parties are limited to 15 children.
    • Can we see the turtles and snakes? Naturalist-led programs may include our resident animals. Please note this is only available with the Room and Naturalist package.
    • Outdoor Activities: Seasonally appropriate outdoor programs can be arranged. Inclement weather may require an indoor alternative.
    • Extra Adults: Yes, additional seating is available to accommodate your guests.
    • Location Details for Invitations: Nahant Marsh Education Center, 4220 Wapello Ave. Davenport, IA 52802. Note: If arriving via South Concord Street, guests may encounter a train. Access is also available via Rockingham Road/Highway 22 and Wapello Avenue.
