Conservation Technology is a 2-year degree program offered by Eastern Iowa Community College that prepares you for success in a number of conservation-based careers. With growing interest in the environment, a lack of comparable programs locally, and with the potential for job growth in this area, the time is right to start this program.
Students with a background in Conservation can pursue careers as:
• Conservation Scientists
• Environmental Scientists
• Conservation Technicians
• Foresters
• Naturalists/Environmental Educators
• Outdoor Recreation Technicians
• Fishery Technicians
• Wildlife Biologists
• Botanists
• Soil Conservationists
• Watershed Coordinators
The program is administered through EICC, but the majority of the courses are offered at Nahant Marsh Education Center. Nahant is an excellent place for this program because it is centrally located and there is direct access to the Mississippi River. Our partnerships with various local organizations will give students the opportunity for a wide array of experiences.
